So, what’s it like living at the Cairns Student Lodge?

Imagine a 3 bedroom unit without a kitchen – that’s what we call a ‘cluster’.  You have a private bedroom and share the lounge and bathroom areas with up to 2 others.  Each bedroom is separately lockable – only your key unlocks your bedroom door. 

No cleaning unless you want to!  The lounge and bathroom areas are cleaned once per week by contract cleaners – you decide when to clean your bedroom and we provide you with the cleaning equipment.

Yes, you can pick who to share with but if you don’t know anyone, don’t worry, we will put you in a cluster with others who we think you will get along with – females with females, males with males.  If you want to move during your stay, we do what we can to meet your requests because we want you to be happy!

No cooking, no washing up!  You pick an all inclusive package which provides all meals every day of the week – this is especially good for those who are out-of-home for the first time, for those who are studying hard and don’t have time or those who simply don’t want the hassle of planning and budgeting for menus, food shopping, cooking or cleaning up the mess.  Or, you can choose a meal plan and purchase meals to suit your budget - there is a small fridge and a microwave in each cluster for your convenience but you need to supply your own crockery, cutlery etc.

No extra bills! No matter what meal plan you choose, you won’t have to worry about additional bills such as the internet, electricity or gas.  These are all included!  The only things not included is the cost of phone calls (charged at the standard rate) and the cost to do your laundry (allow approx $5 per week).
