Each unit has a private bedroom. The bathroom and fully air-conditioned living areas are shared with two other students per unit.

Your unit and room will be cleaned weekly.

Each bedroom includes your own telephone and net connection.



Clusters are often mixed (co-ed). *Female residents can choose to share with other girls. Please specify on your application.

Cleaning - Each cluster is serviced weekly

Laundry facilities - Each cluster is serviced weekly – this service does not include the laundering of linen.

It is the guests responsibility to launder these as required.

Security - A licensed security officer monitors and patrols all residential and public areas throughout the night to ensure the safety and security of students and their possessions.

Residential Assistants - The Residential Assistants (RAs) role is to assist residents in the process of assimilation into their new environment and to assist in their personal, professional and academic development.

Telephone - Each room has its own phone line with voicemail facilities. Residents are billed for calls and statements issued fortnightly. Call charges are approximately $0.50 AUD per local call, long distance and mobile phones are more expensive and charged per minute. 1800 numbers and room to room calling is free.

Computer and Internet Facilities - All JCU students have high-speed access via cat5/fibre optic connection direct from their private study desk to the James Cook University Computer system. A central computer room is also available to all residents. Casual guests, language students and other non-JCU students can use an in room internet connection by way of dialing through their own ISP usually for the cost of a local call.

Accommodation for the Disabled - The lodge offers 2 purpose built clusters for disabled residents. These areas allow adequate space for wheelchairs and other aids. All public areas of the lodge are located on the ground floor.
